New Victoria Cricket Club Under 15

This season the Under 15 are to be coordinated and managed by Matty Simpson and are looking to go one better than last year, coming second in the 3D Sports Southport and District Amateur League Under 15 Division C

For the under 15, the prize of the Davies Shield awaits should they beat all opposition within the knock competition organised through the 3D Southport and District Amateur league.

New Vic U 15's start in style

New Victoria U 15's have started the season with a bang recently.
After taking the full points in the first week due to Aughton being unable to raise a side, NVCC got the action underway with a compelling victory over Tarleton.
In the 18 over Match NVCC put up a cracking total of 118. This was largely due to a well crafted 43 from M Howard who was ably supported by the unconventional yet extremely effective hitting style of J. Bray (28*).
Tarleton never looked in danger of overcoming this total and a steady flow of wickets meant they only reached 35 in reply. Both K. Rigby (3-3) and A. Large (3-6) bowled well with all the bowlers chipping in.
Man of the match - M. Howard 43 and 1-5. Honourable mention J. Bray 28* and 1-9.

New Victoria U 15's continued their unbeaten start with a competent victory over a solid Burscough side

When Kieran Rigby and co eventually decided to arrive at the ground NVCC began the game in the field. A tight spell of bowling restricted Burscough in the early stages and A. Large in particular was unlucky not to take any wickets. Some loose bowling and unsavoury fielding allowed Burscough to take control of the innings. A breakthrough finally came from D. Rimmer (1-8) which allowed NVCC to claw their way back into the innings. Only Hughes (40) put up any resistance and when he departed to hugely impressive A. Large (5 overs 3 maidens 4 runs 2 wickets), the innings faded to a timid end with Burscough reaching 75-5.

New Vic's reply got off to a bad start when Howard departed for a single. From that point onwards the game went one way with K. Rigby (33) dominating the bowling attack and picked the bad balls off. Rigby was well supported by G. Mansour (23*) and the pair put on 69 which took NVCC to the brink of victory. Following the departure of Rigby it was left to A. Large (4*) to finish the victory with a stylish boundary.
Man of the Match - A. Large 4* and 2-4. Honourable mention - K Rigby 33 and 1-13.
